How does it feel to be nominated? It is an honor to be nominated with other young adults who are achieving great things in our community. I am pleased and humbled. A very special thank you to the SLYA and AFRICOM board for nominating me.

What are your plans? My short-term goal is to recruit and mentor potential leaders. Developing a succession plan to strengthen our community as it moves into the future. My long-term goal is to return home and run for presidency in Sierra Leone.

What are you engaged in? I have a great passion for soccer and youth development. As head coach of a soccer team, I use soccer to mentor a group of high school boys.

What does it mean to be a part of the Diaspora?
It is a wonderful opportunity that comes with great responsibility. As a member of the Diaspora, I get the opportunity to build bridges that were never built or were destroyed by past generations. I get to project Africa and its people in a way that most media outlets failed to project us. Nominated by Dr. Eric Edi, executive director of AFRICOM and the Sierra Leone Youth Association.
