Amanosi Agbugui founded an annual 5k Victory Walk to raise money to fight Sickle Cell Anemia Disease. Her goal was to give back the community that gave to her support. Agbugui suffered severely from sickle cell, a disease that causes the red blood cells to form the shape of a sickle or crescent moon, causing reduced blood and oxygen flow. Read More
Ernest Owens
Ernest Owens is an award-winning journalist and a writer at 1-Large for Philadelphia Magazine. Owens covers a variety of social issues regarding race, LGBTQ, communities, and pop culture. His extensive reporting on racism within the LBGTQ community, and specifically racial discrimination in Philadelphia’s Gayborhood, was cited by the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations and led in part to the city government’s passing an antidiscrimination bill in 2017. Kenneth T. Earle, also known as Kenny Culture, is an entrepreneur, a music producer and a digital media mogul. He is the founder of Great Inventors LLC, a digital content creation company that provides film, audio, and graphic design services to clients. Originally from Jamaica Queens, Kenneth is also a music producer and an MC. In addition to his work running Great Inventors, Kenneth also works as the Events and Special Projects Coordinator for the City of Philadelphia, where he’s worked on events like the Wawa Welcome America 4th of July Festival. Chante’ Hall is the founder of 2X The Service LLC, a branding, marketing, public relations, and event planning company. Through her company, Hall helps others to grow their businesses and their brands. Her business has attracted many high-profile clients like The Fader, South by Southwest Festival and Chef Milly from Hell’s Kitchen. Despite her success, Hall remains humble and continues to aspire to achieve more. Hall is also involved in the Sierra Leone Youth Association, an organization that aims to advance the Sierra Leonean youths in America. Juwan Bennett
Reverend Dr. Juwan Bennett is a Criminal Justice Professor at Temple University, an ordained minister and an accomplished musician. At the age of 19, Dr. Bennett was sought after by universities throughout the U.S. for his intellectual talent. He ended up staying local and attending Temple University, where he received a doctorate in criminal justice. Since then Dr. Bennett has researched how alternative education programs can decrease youth delinquency. He also founded the Urban Youth Leadership Academy at Temple. Garry A. Johnson, III
Garry Johnson graduated from the University of Delaware in 2018 with a Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurship & Design. Since then he’s designed several ventures, including founding Urbinvest, LLC., a startup aimed at creating access to capital for entrepreneurs. In addition, he’s currently working on another venture called Know Capp. His goal is to help provide access to entrepreneurship opportunities for underrepresented communities, specifically focusing on the innovation economy. Jonathan Williams founded the Chestnut Hill Cleaning Company at age 16. He and his friends needed money, they knew that college was approaching and that they would need real financial resources. So, they brain stormed what they could do that others would not want to, that’s how they came up with the idea for the cleaning company. The next day Jonathan printed business cards. His business grew from shoveling neighbors’ sidewalks to working with a large list of commercial and residential clients, providing services that range from carpet cleaning to waste removal. Elder Kerrie G. Green Jr. is a native of Philadelphia, PA and a former undergraduate student at Pennsylvania State University – University Park. He attained a Bachelor’s Degree in African American studies, minoring in sociology.
