ArtBreak at AAMP - Richard J. Watson: Modern Romanticism and Mysticism

Thursday, December 16th, 12:00 p.m.

Included with General Admission I Free for Members!

AAMP invites you to join us for ArtBreak, a lunchtime art talk and exhibition tour led by the Museum's curatorial staff. Presented in person on the 3rd Thursday of the month, ArtBreak allows for an opportunity to learn more about the Museum's special exhibition offering through an informal, conversational tour. This season, ArtBreak focuses on the overarching themes in the practice of Richard J. Watson, AAMP's Artist-in-Residence whose work will be on display through March 2022. Richard J. Watson, an alumnus of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, is widely recognized as a representational and collage artist. He has to his credit many murals throughout the City of Philadelphia, including liturgical murals within the chapel of the Church of the Advocate, a mosaic tile centerpiece within the Creative and Performing Arts High School, and the official portrait of former Mayor of Philadelphia, W. Wilson Goode, in the Mayor's Reception Room at City Hall, Philadelphia. Watson is the Artist-in-Residence/Exhibits Manager at AAMP, with his painting and murals included in numerous private and public collections. Your cooperation with our new admissions policy helps us reduce person-to-person contact and ensure that we are adhering to capacity limitations. Learn more about how we are keeping you safe and what you can do to help by viewing our Safety Tips online prior to your visit.
