Youth Service Project with Dreamline Workshop & MLK Day Scavenger Hunt!

Inspired by Martin Luther King’s legacy of equity, justice, and freedom, we will listen, reflect, create and share in order to move in the direction of our individual and shared dreams. Led by Youth Mentors from Dreamline, participants experience a series of intentional and creative activities that infuse imagination, awareness, community and positive change. Within a supportive community that celebrates bravery, diversity, and love, each participant will think of and create their own Dream Banner with paper, pencil and whatever art materials may be on hand. It is a simple yet powerful symbol of voice, vision for the future, and connection to others.

Try your hand at searching AAMP’s galleries for responses to our annual MLK-themed scavenger hunt, which helps participants discover how generations of people have worked together for centuries to defend and promote justice and equality.

To prepare for this program:

GET A piece of paper about 8.5x 11 in. lined is OK but no lines even better.
GET Something to write or draw with–pen, pencil, markers, etc.
AT THE TOP OF THE PAPER write “Dear Future Self,” Skip a line. Then write, “I have a dream that…”
STOP – for now.
