Style Influencers "Spring Fashion Soirees"

Mar 29, 2023 02:00PM ● By Aisha Al-Muid AKA Missmahoganyphilly

Spring is nature’s way of saying let’s party! Most of February and March was a whirlwind jam-packed with fashion and Women’s History month events. The manifestation of strong women with independent confidence has arrived. I did my best to keep up with the amazing gleeful fashion functions on and offline.

Two stand-out fashion feasts stood out as exciting, inspirational, and fantastic. First was the return of the “in-person” runway show “Slay the Runway” presented by Jonesy’s Accessories boutique hosted by WDAS Frankie Darcell at the Hilton Hotel City Ave. Fabulosity filled the room with women from all over Philadelphia who came out to see bold, beautiful, and unique fashions.

The crowd were impeccably dressed. Super smart owner of Jonesy’s Accessories curated a unique pop-up shopping experience that allowed fashionistas to buy what went down the runway on-site. Then there was the “Women of Style and Substance’ event at Joan Shepp, Philadelphia’s iconic boutique, hosted by the legendary Dyana Williams.

A tribute to Queen Tuesday (buyer/stylist/manager) mother, Mrs TrudieJennie Faye Bennet, at Joan Shepp’s annual women’s history event and tribute to fashionable women who make a tremendous impact on community: fashion, music, arts, and education.

Joan Shepp has become the go-to brand for women who want something unusual but extravagant. There were so many giants in the room. It was such a pleasant experience and honor to be there. So grateful to have a life that includes fashion and creativity. Until next time smile and style.
