Terry Tracey’s mission as part of the Economic Development Advisory Committee for the Township is to attract economic development to Upper Darby, PA and create a model for inclusive innovation and economic growth. His focus is fostering development and growth in the township’s diverse communities and working with new entrepreneurs who want to open businesses through the township’s incubator program. The comprehensive plan reconnects the township to vibrant commercial corridors.

Tracey sees an enhancement for the two commercial districts that will beautify the streetscape. The Economic Development Advisory Committee’s effort to organically develop and sustain financial incentives is designed to bring in private capital into the township to help existing business owners with their marketing campaign. As entrepreneurship rises, Tracey said, “We want people to know Upper Darby is open for business and you have a municipal government and a broader community that is invested in your success. So come here, we have all the necessary ingredients for prosperity, growth and success”.

He suggested that part of their plan is building a network of inner business improvement districts for community development in which the corporate network is in partnership with the township. This kind of task is a township wide initiative; investing in improvements of small business owners, employees, and engaged citizens while taking an active role in refining a vision for economic growth that promotes financial wellness.

Tracey who sees his committee as one that represents positive change stated, “We are the place that folks come to for help, to get set up in Upper Darby and get their vision and their dream off the ground. Certainly, we will help to simplify the message and the work.”
