Minds on Fire: 30 Under 30 Recap

Mar 03, 2021 08:00AM ● By Nana Ama Addo

On February 22nd, 2021, FunTimes Magazine hosted the FunTimes Friday webinar, themed ‘Minds on Fire: 30 Under 30’. This event celebrated the success of millennial changemakers who are changing the game for the next generation. Honorees of this event included Miyah Hammond, Investor/Educator, David and Aaron Cabello, CEOs of Black and Mobile, and Oprah Williams, CEO of ProperlyGuided Natural HairCare Salon.

Oprah Williams started her business after receiving divine direction from God in a dream. Her acclaimed business ‘ProperlyGuided Natural HairCare Salon’ serves an array of clients in Jamaica. Oprah expanded her business using faith, persistence, and the power of interpersonal communication. She says being polite and welcoming to community members has helped her gain and maintain customers. She develops a positive relationship with her employees by being transparent with them regarding subjects ranging from bills to customer service.

The main strategy of entrepreneurship is to find a need and fill it. This is exactly what business owners David and Aaron Cabello accomplished when they created Black and Mobile. Now, as the only delivery service in the country that exclusively serves Black businesses, Black and Mobile innovates the game, and is now making deliveries in Atlanta, Baltimore and Detroit, Philadelphia.

When Miyah learned about Forex Trading, a whole new world opened up for her. Through her forex journey, she was able to earn a six-figure salary, and build a team so she can assist others on their journey to financial success. She has trained over 500 people, and shared that her career has helped her rebrand into an outspoken go-getter who inspires young women to carve their own path to success in untraditional ways.

FunTimes gives a huge shout-out to our other Under 30 panelists, including Nile Andah, Teyana Meyers, and Kenyada Posey. We thank all of these young minds on fire for their contributions to society, and we are excited to see what they accomplish next!
