Although spring is approaching, the cold weather is still upon us. We wanted to share a list of Black-owned outerwear brands that you should look into buying from for your cold-weather travels. Whether you want a luxury faux fur coat or a more practical pullover for harsh weather, these Black designers have the perfect gear for you. We hope these six Black-owned outerwear brands keep you warm and cozy for the winter!

Slim Pickins Outfitters

Slim Pickins Outfitters is the first Black-owned outdoor gear shop in the United States. Slim Pickins sells quality outdoor goods to inspire adventure and curiosity while protecting against the elements. Jahmicah Dawes started the brand to address the disparities between outside gear and the Black community. By making the great outdoors and rural country more accessible for Black families with great outerwear, Dawes is on a cultural mission. Slim Pickins has everything you will need in the outdoors with self-help guides, graphic tees, vintage clothing, and hiking bags.

Fancy Success Luxe Fur Collection

Founded by Carnisha Gilder, Fancy Success offers affordable custom luxury coats and vests in various styles and colors. Gilder was inspired by her two favorite aunts and her mother, all of whom she watched dress up in their finest furs as a child. Their furs are luxurious because they are made with the highest quality of furs sourced in Finland and Norway and undergo strict quality control measures before they are used to construct your fur garment. Your fur will be customized and handcrafted by the finest artisans in Europe, which is home to the most prominent luxury fashion powerhouses.

Pyer Moss

Founded by Kerby Jean-Raymond in 2013, Pyer Moss has become one of the most renowned Black-owned luxury brands. Jean-Raymond honored the Black Lives Matter movement with his spring 2016 collection and set social media on fire with his New York Fashion Week show in 2018. He hosted the runway show in Weeksville, Brooklyn, one of America’s first free Black communities, and had a Black choir perform while models displayed his clothes.

Duckie Confetti

New York City-based Duckie Confetti is a celeb-approved designer who keeps social media buzzing with photos of his furs. Confetti has created custom pieces for Cardi B, Fabolous, Emily B, and Monica. He even received a cosign from Beyoncé, who sported his Benjamin pajama set and robe in her Black Is King visual project. For Confetti, staying warm is a full-service business. He offers fur collars, mittens, earmuffs, beanies, and slides, and also specializes in colorful quilted and denim jackets.

Raeana

If you’re looking to splurge on your winter outerwear, look no further than designer and fashion stylist Raeana Anaïs. Her innovative designs, which include fur capes, earmuffs, parkas, and stoles, are available from $400 to $6,000. Anaïs’ pieces have been featured in various editorial shoots and music videos. Raeana Anaïs is a designer and stylist with a conceptual approach to curating narratives through fashion. She graduated from Parsons School of Design and studied artisanal fur craftsmanship at the world's foremost creative laboratory for developing new ideas in fur - The Saga Furs Design Centre.

The Albert brand was conceived in London, United Kingdom in 2008. After an 8 year journey of forming our brand principles and mission, The Albert Brand was finally formed in 2016. The vision for Albert is to create a hub for menswear that champions classic style. When you purchase an item from us we want your item to withstand the test of time and outlast trends. Style meets sophistication with Albert Clothing.
